Pearl Street (Route 15) Multimodal Transportation Study ~ Final Report

Description:
The purpose of this initiative was to create a multimodal transportation action plan for the Pearl Street corridor (Route 15) in the Village of Essex Junction. The study area is from the western most boundary of Essex Junction at the Susie Wilson Road intersection to the Five Corners, immediately adjacent properties, the rail line, driveways and connecting streets, as well as rail crossings either within, or close to, the study area. This multimodal study builds upon, expands and unifies concepts developed in numerous past studies of the Route 15 corridor. The plan recommends and prioritizes potential improvements to the corridor for the short, medium and long term and identifies a course of action to implement the proposed improvements.

Bridge Street Bicycle & Pedestrian Feasibility Study

The Town of Richmond received a "Bridge Street Bicycle & Pedestrian Feasibility Study" Transportation Action Grant (TAG) from the Chittenden County Metropolitan Planning Organization. The purpose of this study was to develop streetscape design recommendations for improving pedestrian and bicycle circulation along the study area considering the following factors: safety, connectivity between village areas, utility infrastructure, existing community resources, economic development, character of the village, and natural resources along Bridge Street between Depot Street and Bridge Street’s southern end, and along Huntington Road between Bridge Street and Farr Street.
