Regional Bicycle-Pedestrian Plan Update ~ Final Report (2008)

5.9 MB
Year:
2008
Theme:
Bicycle & Pedestrian, Transportation
Description:
In 2007 the Chittenden County Metropolitan Planning Organization (CCMPO) contracted with Wilbur Smith Associates to perform this update to the 2003 Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan. The plan serves as the bicycle and pedestrian component of the metropolitan longrange transportation plan and guides the implementation of an interconnected regional bicycle and pedestrian transportation network in Chittenden County. The plan is regional in scope. As such, it may not include all the bicycle and pedestrian facilities within each community. Facilities that serve strictly local needs, fill an almost exclusively recreational purpose, or that do not provide regionally important connectivity have been left off the regional network maps.

Route 15 Bicycle and Pedestrian Facility Feasibility Study: Colchester to Essex Junction

62.6 MB
Year:
2007
Theme:
Bicycle & Pedestrian, Corridor, Transportation
Description:
In 1996, the Chittenden County Metropolitan Planning Organization began work on a scoping study for an alternate Transportation Path in the Route 15 corridor between Essex Junction and Colchester. To assist in the work, the CCMPO hired Lamoureux & Dickinson Consulting Engineers (L&D) of Essex, Vermont. L&D held several public work sessions, circulated an informal survey to bicyclists and residents, met with the municipal boards, conducted field survey and did extensive work to prepare the Scoping Study. After L&D prepared a draft report, numerous outside factors lead to the CCMPO halting work on the project. This Study is an update of the previous work prepared by L&D as part of the original Study.

Longmeadow-Webster Road Bicycle/Pedestrian Path Feasibility Study

40 MB
Year:
2004
Theme:
Bicycle & Pedestrian, Infrastructure, Transportation
Description:
The Town of Shelburne Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan (1993) recommends development of a pedestrian and bicycle connection from the neighborhoods north of Webster Road to the Shelburne Community School on Harbor Road connecting through the Village center. This recommended connection is consistent with the Chittenden County Bicycle and Pedestrian Regional Path (2003). Detailed planning for the connection was initiated in the mid-late 1990s. However, the facility and alignment contemplated at that time did not fully conform with federal or state funding standards. This feasibility study is meant to update the alignment and verify that both procedural and alignment Standards for shared use paths can be met.

Williston Comprehensive Transportation Study: Final Study Report

12.3 MB
Year:
2003
Theme:
Modeling, Safety, Traffic, Transportation
Description:
This study had two key objectives: 1. To characterize and assess the current Williston transportation system; and 2. To develop a methodology for the Town to use in assessing the effects of developments on the transportation system. To address the first objective, WSA worked with the Study steering committee to develop a framework for continuously monitoring, measuring and reporting on the performance of the Town transportation system. The performance measures identified are tied to the Town transportation goals as documented in its Comprehensive Plan and will therefore help the Town assess, on a regular basis, how effectively investments in and management of the transportation system are helping the Town achieve the Plan goals.
