This Plan evaluates how proposed land development affects the transportation network in the project area to help inform future land use and transportation decisions.

This study outlines a phased parking strategy and mobility recommendations for the City Center area of the City of South Burlington, Vermont. The study area focuses on development and redevelopment along Market Street, Garden Street, and adjacent areas served by Williston Road and Dorset Street.

This is the Appendix for the 2020 South Burlington Pedestrian and Bicycle Feasibility Study - Phase 2 study that evaluated the feasibility of additional sidewalk and shared use paths at four (4) proposed study site locations: Spear Street from UVM George D. Aiken Forestry Sciences Laboratory to the Shelburne town line; Hinesburg Road from Williston Road to Kennedy Drive; Allen Road from Baycrest Drive to Shelburne Road, Harbor View Road from Shelburne Road to Baycrest Drive, and Baycrest Drive from Harbor View Road to Allen Road; and Fayette Drive from Queen City Park Road to Shelburne Road.

The CCRPC and the City of South Burlington initiated this scoping study to analyze and evaluate the feasibility of additional sidewalk and shared use paths at four (4) proposed study site locations: Spear Street from UVM George D. Aiken Forestry Sciences Laboratory to the Shelburne town line; Hinesburg Road from Williston Road to Kennedy Drive; Allen Road from Baycrest Drive to Shelburne Road, Harbor View Road from Shelburne; Road to Baycrest Drive, and Baycrest Drive from Harbor View Road to Allen Road; Fayette Drive from Queen City Park Road to Shelburne Road. This report analyzes and evaluates existing conditions, provides conceptual alternatives, and tabulates opinions of probable construction costs. It continues upon the previous efforts in the February 2017 report of the same name to improve and/or close the gaps of the South Burlington pedestrian and bicycle networks.

This memorandum summarizes the feasibility of continuing bicycle lanes through the intersections of Williston Road at Kennedy Drive/Airport Drive and Williston Road at Hinesburg Road/Patchen Road by reallocating roadway space used by vehicles.

A summary of fleet efficiency options and brief analysis of potential costs and benefits of switching out to more efficient vehicles, including plug-in electric vehicle (EV) options, is included below.

Greenride Bikeshare launched in April 2018 and provided a new public transportation option in Burlington, South Burlington and Winooski. CCRPC contracted with Toole Design to analyze the potential future expansion of the Greenride system and provide guidance on the placement of additional micromobility hubs and options such as e-assist bicycles and e-scooters that may support the growth and success of the region’s first shared mobility system.

The Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission (CCRPC) and the City of South Burlington (the City) initiated this study to analyze and evaluate the feasibility of mid-block crossings in multiple locations in South Burlington, Vermont.

The I-89 Exit 14 Alternative Transportation Crossing Study was undertaken to identify a means and alignment to improve pedestrian and bicycle access in the Exit 14 area.
