The intent of this project is to build a long-term plan for expanding electric vehicle charger capacity for CarShare Vermont's fleet of shared vehicles. This entailed identifying both existing and future parking locations that would be able to host electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE), working in collaboration with property owners and an electrical contractor. It also included updating legal parking agreements with provisions for installing such equipment. Throughout the project, CSVT expected to coordinate with local municipalities and other partners to seek out opportunities to synchronize goals and electrification implementation, and to document common challenges encountered when attempting to work with stakeholders to install charging equipment for the publicly accessed carsharing use case. This plan details the next steps CarShare Vermont can take to implement new EV charging opportunities identified by this planning project, and also reports on the lessons and insights encountered over the course of the project.
