For several years, the City of Burlington has desired to improve the pedestrian safety and mobility at this intersection. Historically, this intersection has had pedestrian improvements with the construction of Little Park which comprises the southwest corner of the intersection. The construction of the park not only provided an aesthetic element to this corner, it also removed the adjacent intersection of Bright Street and North Winooski Avenue. To further this pedestrian mobility and safety improvement effort, the City of Burlington had initiated some pedestrian signal improvements in the field; however, further design plans were not developed and the improvements were not constructed at that time. The City now desires to move this pedestrian improvement project forward by having an evaluation of pedestrian crossings, roadway alignment, and the signal system so that up-to-date cost information and options can be determined.

The Town of Jericho identified the need for enhanced bike and pedestrian accommodations between Jericho Center and the Mount Mansfield Union High School (MMU). These two important destinations are approximately one mile apart and are connected by Browns Trace Road. The purpose of this study is to identify and evaluate potential infrastructure improvements that would improve and encourage non-motorized transportation along this corridor.

The Dickenson Street Improvement Scoping Report was developed to update and expand the previous study efforts to divert traffic from Steam Mill Road (formerly, the name of the road between VT15 and the Dickenson Street/River Road Intersection. It is now called River Road) and the Steam Mill Road/VT 15 intersection while considering future development by providing improvements to Dickenson Street.

This project deals with the study of alternatives for correcting existing deficiencies on the Gentes Road (TH-3) Bridge (Bridge no. 20) over New England Central Railroad in Essex, Vermont. The bridge carries a town-maintained highway and is owned by the town.

The purpose of this project is to provide a technical evaluation of Harbor Road in Shelburne, VT from its intersection with US Route 7 (Shelburne Road) west to its intersection with School Street. This evaluation will provide improvement recommendations based on data and information that VHB collected or obtained from applicable agencies.

The Town of Shelburne requested the Chittenden County Metropolitan Planning Organization’s (CCMPO) assistance in reviewing and analyzing the crash history at the US 7 /Marsett Road/Bostwick Road intersection. The Shelburne Police have seen an increase in the number of crashes over the past year and would like to determine possible causes and mitigation strategies.

The project was initiated to gather information and develop plans for a potential boardwalk to be constructed between Varney and Wilder Roads in Jericho Center.

The purpose of this report is to address the requirements of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Interstate Access Policy as it relates to a proposed interchange between I-89 and VT State Route 116 in South Burlington, VT (Exit 12B). It will be used to seek preliminary approval of a new access to the interstate from FHWA and provides information that will support the continued planning and analysis of the proposed project. The FHWA Interstate Access Policy was established to ensure that new access points achieve their intended purpose without significantly reducing the ability of the interstate to safely and efficiently accommodate through traffic. To satisfy the FHWA Access Policy, an Interstate Access Justification Report (IJR) must be prepared that provides the analyses necessary to address eight requirements that define the approach to the study and are generally related to traffic operations and safety, transportation planning and land use planning.

The purpose of this update is to provide information on area changes or developments since 2006, an updated cost estimate, and identify potential next steps to advance the project.
