CCMPO Regional Transportation Model Documentation: 2000 Base Year Model ~ Version 2.3.0

1.5 MB
Year:
2008
Theme:
Modeling, Transportation
Description:
The Chittenden County Model is an integrated land-use allocation, transportation, and air quality model designed to perform a wide range of analyses. The model includes several advanced features that place it on the cutting edge of improved modeling methods required to meet the needs of 2005 Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU) and the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990. In addition, several features recommended by the Travel Model Improvement Program of the US Department of Transportation and Environmental Protection Agency are incorporated into the Model.

Chittenden County Regional Build-out Analysis ~ Project Report: Regional Build-out Results

39.2 MB
Year:
2003
Theme:
Buildout, Housing, Land Use, Modeling, Population
Description:
To initiate the Regional Build-out Analysis project, Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission (CCRPC) staff and an RBA Steering Committee prepared: (1) a draft methodology, (2) a preliminary landscape suitability analysis in which partial and prohibitive constraints (wetlands, prime agricultural soils, steep slopes, etc.) are applied to determine a buildable land area, and (3) a zoning analysis in which local zoning and other land use regulations determine the residential and non-residential development potential of the buildable land area.

Williston Comprehensive Transportation Study: Final Study Report

12.3 MB
Year:
2003
Theme:
Modeling, Safety, Traffic, Transportation
Description:
This study had two key objectives: 1. To characterize and assess the current Williston transportation system; and 2. To develop a methodology for the Town to use in assessing the effects of developments on the transportation system. To address the first objective, WSA worked with the Study steering committee to develop a framework for continuously monitoring, measuring and reporting on the performance of the Town transportation system. The performance measures identified are tied to the Town transportation goals as documented in its Comprehensive Plan and will therefore help the Town assess, on a regular basis, how effectively investments in and management of the transportation system are helping the Town achieve the Plan goals.

Chittenden County Decision Support System (DSS) ~ Task 1.2: Influences on Land Use and Development ~ Final Report

437.7 kB
Year:
2001
Theme:
Land Use, Modeling, Transportation
Description:
This report discusses major influences on transportation behavior and land use in two steps. First, it reviews general trends and influences, first on land use, and then on transportation behavior. Second, the report looks in detail at how four types of cross-cutting influences—demographics, economic trends, changes in the transportation market, and regulation—affect both transportation behavior and land use in Chittenden County, using local data where possible.

Development of the Chittenden County Regional Travel Demand Model

2.3 MB
Year:
1989
Theme:
Modeling, Transportation
Description:
This report describes the structure and development of the Chittenden County Regional Travel Demand Model. The objective of the model development effort was to produce a planning tool which could be used to consistently evaluate the regional transportation effects of a range of roadway improvement and development projects. The effort consisted of the design and administration of a resident survey questionnaire, collection of land use data for the entire Chittenden County region, compilation of data describing the regional roadway network, estimation of mathematical equations to describe travel behavior of residents, and implementation of the model into a commercial transportation planning computer package; TMODLE2.
