Allen (Petty) Brook Stormwater & Watershed Assessment

5.9 MB
Year:
2023
Theme:
Storm Water, Stormwater, Water Quality
Description:
This stormwater and watershed assessment took place from July 2022 to June 2023 to study Allen Brook watershed’s current water quality conditions within the Town of Milton and to investigate where stormwater Best Management Practices (BMPs) can be prioritized to manage runoff from developed lands within the watershed. Representatives of Watershed Consulting met with representatives from the VT DEC, CCRPC, and the Town of Milton to discuss the timeline and goals of this assessment in July 2022. From discussion with key stakeholders, it is known that over the past fifteen years, numerous water quality, fluvial erosion, and biological community assessments have been conducted in this watershed to assess the health of Allen Brook. From these assessments, it is known that Allen Brook is at risk of impairment when measured by its chemical and biological health. This study builds off of a variety of previous assessments in order to understand the source of pollutants, such as nutrients, chloride, and sediment, that have contributed to the impairment of Allen Brook. This assessment successfully used these findings to target stormwater BMPs in key areas of concern that will effectively treat stormwater runoff before it discharges to Allen Brook and ultimately Malletts Bay.

Westford Village Stormwater Improvements Project

12.2 MB
Year:
2023
Theme:
Stormwater, Water Quality
Description:
The study evaluated stormwater drainage concerns within the Town Common area of Westford and existing storm drain under VT Route 128 that drains stormwater from the Village Common area to the Browns River.  The area at the existing outlet pipe is eroded and requires relocation due to a redevelopment project on the 1705 Rte 128 property.  This study developed conceptual plans for relocation of the storm drain under Route 128 and possible outlet treatments and stormwater best management practices for improving drainage in the Village Common area.

Allen Brook Large Culvert Assessment Study

6.5 MB
Year:
2019
Theme:
Storm Water, Water Quality
Description:
This project extensively conducted culvert assessment on all large culverts (more than 5 ft) within the Allen Brook watershed in Williston.  The study focused on evaluating existing conditions of all six large culverts; four on Talcott Road (2 doubles), one on South Ridge Road and one on Old Stage Road, identifying regulations and permitting processes that may required for future culvert replacement/improvement and develop a long-term implementation plan including prioritizing, conceptual plans and cost estimates that will be included in the Town's Capital Improvement Plan.

Richmond Stormwater Master Plan

38.9 MB
Year:
2018
Theme:
Stormwater, Water Quality
Description:
Within this Plan, localized stormwater problems are examined at a larger scale (e.g., throughout the village core) to determine their relative contributions and aid in setting priorities for addressing challenges related to stormwater runoff. As adjoining municipalities also take increasingly comprehensive views of stormwater management issues and planning, these plans are one-stop resources that can improve coordination and increase opportunities for collaboration in meeting watershed-related needs across political boundaries.

Jericho VT – Stormwater Master Plan

1.9 MB
Year:
2017
Theme:
Stormwater, Water Quality
Description:
The purpose of this stormwater master plan was to identify a comprehensive system of low-impact development treatment practices to address an increase in impervious surfaces and mitigate drainage issues to reduce the amount of sediment and nutrients from entering the Town’s waterbodies. CCRPC staff worked alongside Watershed Associates and Town officials to further the development of this stormwater master plan. The project was completed in April 2017
